The Foundation for the Education of Rural Children (FERC) is offering a unique opportunity to tour Northern Thailand in October 2008. Limited to twelve travelers, the trip will include expert-led tours of the vibrant city of Chiang Mai with its ornate temples and walled old city. Visits to nature preserves and hill tribe communities in the lush countryside around Chiang Mai are included as are stops at two FERC-sponsored children's projects. While there will be ample opportunity to experience Thailand’s physical beauty and learn about its culture and religion, the flexible itinerary leaves plenty of time for shopping, spa visits, golf, mountain biking, river rafting, or jungle treks.

The tour will offer an unparalleled combination of comfort, activity options, and cultural insight. Thanks to generous donations from the best hotels, spas and tourism service providers in the Chiang Mai area, the tour can also be offered at a very reasonable price. The tentative itinerary is attached.
